A WILLIAM IV PATTERN 1822 INFANTRY OFFICER'S SWORD,
circa late 1820s, with slightly curved single-edged 32 1/2in. pipe or quill-backed blade etched with Royal cypher within panel, brass hilt with folding guard and William IV Royal cypher, wire bound fish-skin grip, complete with leather scabbard with gilt mounts, blade with some staining and pitting, losses to the fish-skin exposing the wood towards the pommel, scabbard worn with denting to the locket and chape, stitching failed with taped repair and missing central mount
